Easter Week
Please join us this week for our Holy Week and Easter worship services. We will have a staffed Nursery for Maundy Thursday, Good Friday (evening), and the 8:30 & 10:45 AM Easter Sunday worship services.
Maundy Thursday
7pm
A traditional service with Holy Communion remembering Jesus and His disciples on the evening of the Last Supper. Each year at this service, our Confirmands (who were confirmed in the Christian faith on the previous Sunday) receive their first communion.
Good Friday “Tenebrae”
12:00 PM & 7:00 PM
This traditional Service of Darkness (“Tenebrae”) is a powerful time of worship on this holy day. Excerpts are read from the ancient passion readings, which is a harmony of the Gospel accounts of Christ’s crucifixion. With brief meditations on the seven last words of Jesus, seven altar candles are sequentially extinguished. Don’t miss this service; you will walk away with renewed faith and gratitude in your heart for Jesus.
Holy Saturday “Easter Vigil”
7pm
A reflective and “first-glow” pre-Easter service recognizing the night Christ awakened in the tomb. Readings will recount the salvation of God’s people throughout the Biblical narrative. After the homily, participants will have an opportunity for individual worship involving candles, baptismal remembrance, and private prayer.
