Holy Week - Easter 2018 Graphic

 Maundy Thursday – March 29 (7:00pm)

A traditional service with Holy Communion remembering Jesus and His disciples on the evening of the Last Supper. Each year at this service, our Confirmands (who were confirmed in the Christian faith on the previous Sunday) receive their first communion.

Good Friday “Tenebrae” – March 30 (12:00pm & 7:00pm)

This traditional Service of Darkness (“Tenebrae”) is a powerful time of worship on this holy day. Excerpts are read from the ancient passion readings, which is a harmony of the Gospel accounts of Christ’s crucifixion. With brief meditations on the seven last words of Jesus, seven altar candles are sequentially extinguished. Don’t miss this service; you will walk away with renewed faith and gratitude in your heart for Jesus.

Holy Saturday “Easter Vigil”– March 31 (7:00pm)

A reflective and “first-glow” pre-Easter service recognizing the night Christ awakened in the tomb. Readings will recount the salvation of God’s people throughout the Biblical narrative. After the homily, participants will have an opportunity for individual worship involving candles, baptismal remembrance, and private prayer.

Easter Sunday – April 1

Breakfast served in Trinity Hall by our youth for all who attend! Come and enjoy great Easter fellowship!

Children’s Activities between Easter Festival Worship services! Kids decorate an Easter egg basket (provided for them) at 9:45am in Trinity Hall. Egg Hunt begins at 10:15 on our newly renovated playground!

Easter Sunrise Worship – April 1 (6:30am)

An outdoor worship service held in the parking lot at the corner of 4th Street SE and Bates Avenue SE. Facing East, worshipers will watch the sun rise in celebration of God’s Son, Jesus, who rose from the dead on that first Easter Dawn. This Easter worship service celebrates the resurrection of Jesus with a blend of traditional and modern songs, accompanied by keyboard and vocalists.  Walk up and join in!
